What is an online booking service fee?
An online booking service fee is a small fee applied to online bookings on Lite and Service Fee plans. It helps support secure online booking, booking management, reminders and platform services.

- On Standard plans, there is no Orbis online booking service fee.
- Depending on the salon's settings, the fee may be paid by the customer or absorbed by the salon.

Orbis Salon now gives you two ways to pay. Choose a Standard plan if you prefer a fixed monthly subscription with no Orbis online booking service fee. Choose a Service Fee plan if you prefer a lower promotional monthly subscription and are happy for online bookings to include a clearly shown online booking service fee.

SMS pricing is the same on Starter, Growth and Signature.
Transactional email allowance
Starter, Growth and Signature include up to 300 transactional emails per day for booking confirmations, reminders, customer updates and system notifications.
Busy venues can add up to 100,000 transactional emails per month for £20/month.
Staff and user allowance
Growth includes up to 10 staff (including owners) and Signature includes up to 30 staff (including owners). On both plans, additional staff/users can be added for £3/month each.
Starter is designed for one bookable person.
Branded apps
Get a fully branded app for your salon — your name, your logo and your booking experience on your clients' phones. We build it for you as part of your plan.

Payment processing
Orbis Salon can support deposits, pay-in-advance bookings and POS payments. The default card processing rate is 2.5% + 20p per transaction. If your venue processes a higher volume of payments, contact us about integrated gateway options that may reduce your processing fees.
For venues with higher payment volume or specific payment requirements, we can discuss an integrated payment gateway option that may offer lower processing fees. Contact us for details.
Payment processing availability, rates and payout times may depend on provider approval, account setup and transaction type. Third-party payment processing and eligibility requirements may apply.

Why one extra booking can cover Orbis Salon
For many salons, just one extra appointment, recovered cancellation or direct booking can cover the monthly cost of Orbis Salon. The platform is designed to help you reduce manual admin, increase direct bookings and grow your own customer list.
Some marketplace or third-party booking routes can involve percentage commission, payment fees or promotional costs. Orbis Salon gives you a direct booking route under your own brand. Standard plans have no Orbis online booking service fee; Lite and Service Fee plans include a small online booking service fee on online bookings.
You don't have to abandon marketplaces overnight. Many salons use them for discovery while building their own direct booking channel. Orbis Salon helps you own the customer relationship long term.

Salons are responsible for product descriptions, pricing, stock, fulfilment, delivery, refunds and applicable product, consumer and tax rules. Advanced aesthetics and clinical-style record features (treatment plans, medical history, body map / injection plotting, treatment documents and follow-up reminders) are available on the Growth and Signature plans. Multi-location: Starter includes 1 location, Growth 2 and Signature 3, with additional locations at £15/month each. Branded apps: £10/month add-on on Starter and Growth (£129 one-off app build fee); included with Signature (£99 one-off app build fee). What is a Service Fee plan? +
A Service Fee plan gives you a lower monthly subscription and includes an online booking service fee on online bookings. The fee is shown clearly before the customer confirms their booking. Service Fee plans were previously shown as Flex plans.
Why are Service Fee plans 50% less per month? +
The 50% lower monthly price is a launch promotional price for Service Fee plans. The lower monthly subscription is supported by the online booking service fee applied to online bookings.

Who pays the online booking service fee? +
Depending on the salon's plan and settings, the fee may be paid by the customer or absorbed by the salon.
Can I avoid the service fee? +
Salons that prefer no Orbis online booking service fee can choose a Standard plan.
Is the service fee shown to customers? +
Yes. Where a customer-paid service fee applies, it must be shown before the customer confirms the booking.
What is the difference between Website Included and Without Website? +
Website Included plans come with an Orbis-powered salon website and online booking. Without Website plans link the Orbis Salon booking and management tools to a website you already have.
Do you charge marketplace commission on bookings? +
Orbis Salon is not a marketplace taking a percentage commission from every booking. Standard plans do not include an Orbis online booking service fee. Lite and Service Fee plans offer lower monthly pricing and include a small online booking service fee on online bookings.
Can I use my own domain? +
Yes. Your branded salon website can run on your own domain, and we help you connect it during setup.
Can you build my salon website? +
Yes. Website Included plans come with a branded salon website built for you, and a Professional Website Build option is available for more bespoke projects.
Can I switch from Fresha, Booksy or Treatwell? +
Yes. We provide switching support to help you organise your customer lists, services, staff and booking settings when moving from another platform.
Can I cancel monthly? +
Yes. There are no long contracts — plans are monthly and you can cancel at any time.
Are payments included? +
Online payment features are available where enabled on your plan. Card processing is handled by your chosen payment provider, and third-party payment provider fees may apply where online payments are used.
Is Orbis Salon suitable for aesthetics clinics? +
Yes. Orbis Salon supports aesthetics clinics with consultation forms, consent records, client notes and booking controls, alongside salons, barbers and beauty businesses.
Do you offer customer apps? +
Yes. Orbis Salon offers a Manager app for owners and staff, a Client app for customers, and a Windows app for salon management, alongside full web browser access.
