Moving to your own website — your questions

Why move from a marketplace profile to my own website?▾

A marketplace profile is rented visibility; your own website is an asset you control. Direct bookings on your own domain build your brand, your Google presence and your client relationships — and no marketplace sits between you and your clients.

Will I lose the clients who found me on Fresha?▾

No — your existing clients are yours. Export your client list from Fresha and our Import Centre brings names, contact details and notes across. Some salons also keep a marketplace listing for discovery while moving direct bookings to their own site.

Do I need to build the website myself?▾

No. Orbis Salon plans with a website included come with a done-for-you build: we set up your branded site, booking journey and content, and you review before launch.

Can my own website rank on Google?▾

Your own domain can build its own Google presence over time through your Google Business Profile, reviews and local content. Search rankings are never guaranteed, but with a marketplace profile the domain doing the ranking is theirs, not yours.

Does Orbis Salon charge commission on bookings?▾

Orbis Salon is not a marketplace taking a percentage commission from every booking. Standard plans have no Orbis online booking service fee; Lite and Flex plans have lower monthly pricing and include a small online booking service fee on online bookings. The only other usage costs are optional SMS bundles and any third-party card processing fees.

How long does the move take?▾

Many salons are live within a couple of weeks. We plan the switch with you — including a free audit of your current setup — so there is no gap in taking bookings.
